VVRMC February in Review

Many exciting events, upgrades, and administrative changes took place within the VVRMC system over the month of February, here’s a few highlights from the last month: 


VVRMC announced on February 3, 2025, that wound care has transitioned from the Physical Therapy department to its new Wound Care Clinic. The clinic has a dedicated staff and a wound care specialist surgeon on call to treat chronic, surgical, and other wounds without the need for referral to San Antonio or other larger hospital systems. 


Diabetes Cook And Learn Courses were held at VVRMC with more courses to come in the following months.


American Heart Association Heartsaver Courses for First Aid, CPR and AED skills will begin to be taught two Saturdays per month at 801 N. Bedell. Contact Carolina Pineda at 830-775-8566 for more information. 


Dalila Morales, RN was promoted to Emergency Department Director at VVRMC. 


Terry M. Lindsey Primary Care Clinic located at 1200 N. Bedell welcomed Jessica Ord, PA and Paloma Solis Cariaga, FNP who both practice Family Medicine and are now seeing patients. 


Maria Faz, FNP joined Dennis Ong, FNP at the Rural Health Clinic, seeing patients at the walk-in clinic, open from Monday-Saturday 8am-5pm.


VVRMC held the ribbon cutting for its new and improved Cardiac Catheterization Lab on February 14, 2025. 


VVRMC held a Heart Health Kickoff Event on February 12, 2025 in the VVRMC Education Room located at 801 N. Bedell Ave. 

After serving as the Interim Director for 7 months, Viridiana Gonzalez was appointed the role of Director of Quality and Risk Management at VVRMC on February 11, 2025. 


VVRMC held a Heart Health Event in honor of Heart Health Awareness Month on Saturday, February 22 at the Val Verde Community Center where the public had access to Essential Heart Health Education, Workout Sessions, Complimentary Blood Pressure Checks and Interactive Cooking Demonstrations. This was one of many heart health events held by VVRMC during the month of February and the first of many health and wellness events to come.
