UNAUTHORIZED USE OF VEHICLE

On November 6th, 2024 at 12:00 a.m. a Del Rio Police Department officer received a call for service regarding an unauthorized use of a vehicle. The caller reported he allowed a known female to use his vehicle the previous day to go to a local store, but the female failed to return the vehicle back to him.

The caller told police, he contacted the female numerous times asking her to return the vehicle, but she refused and further threatened to cause damage to the vehicle.

Police searched the local hotel parking lots in the area to no avail. A few hours later the officer saw the female suspect walking from the area of Ramada Inn towards Motel 6. The female was seen entering a room at Motel 6. Police searched the area once again and located the missing vehicle parked in the rear parking lot of Ramada Inn.

Police made contact with a male subject in the room of Motel 6 who claimed to be alone but allowed police inside the room. Police were able to locate the female suspect under a sheet as she attempted to conceal herself.

The female identified as Angelica Lynn Moreno; 23 years of age was in possession of the vehicle’s keys. Moreno was arrested for the offense of Unauthorized Use of Vehicle. Moreno was transported to the police station for processing, she was later released to the custody of GEO Correctional Facility.
