TRAFFIC STOP LEADS TO NARCOTIC ARREST
On June 9th, 2024 at 11:39 p.m. a Del Rio Police Department officer was patrolling the 1700 block of Veterans Blvd. when he saw a vehicle traveling on the public roadway with no tail lamps when required.
A traffic stop was conducted, the violator’s vehicle came to a stop at the 1400 block of Veterans Blvd. Upon making contact with the driver, the officer observed an open alcoholic beverage in the cupholder of the vehicle. The driver further informed the officer he had an active arrest warrant.
The driver was asked to exit his vehicle, a pat down revealed a THC cartridge containing a yellow in color liquid. A search of the vehicle revealed a backpack containing several plastic bags containing green, leafy substance and a digital scale. The officer also located a baggie containing a white powdery substance. All suspected contraband was collected, and field tested. The thick yellow liquid and green, leafy substance tested positive for the presence of marihuana. The white powdery substance tested positive for the presence of cocaine.
Adrian Ramos; 32 yrs. of age was arrested for the active arrest warrant from Val Verde County for the offense of Possession of Marihuana > 4oz <=5LBS. Ramos was also arrested for Possession of Controlled Substance Penalty Group 1/1-B >=1g<4g, Possession of Controlled Substance Penalty Group 2>=4g<400g, Possession of Marihuana <2oz. Ramos was transported to the police station where he was processed, he was later released to the custody of GEO Correctional Facility.
