THREATS RESULTS IN ARREST

On August 11th, 2024 at approximately 12:14 a.m. the Del Rio Police Department responded to the 100 block of Forster Street for a disturbance. Upon arrival police met with a male and a female at the scene.

After conducting their investigation, police concluded the male and the female engaged in a verbal disturbance. During the argument the male pushed the female and made threats while holding a knife placing her in fear. The female secured herself in a locked bedroom where she called police for assistance.

The male identified as Elias Torres; 56 yrs. of age was arrested for Terroristic Threat / Family Violence Household member. Torres was transported to the police station where he was processed for the offense, he was later released to the custody of Geo Correctional Facility. An application for an Emergency Protective Order was submitted on behalf of the victim.
