SUBJECT ARRESTED FOR RESISTING ARREST

On July 8th, 2024 at approximately 2:13 a.m. the Del Rio Police Department responded to the White Horse Lounge for a fight in progress. Del Rio Emergency Communication Division advised police one of the subjects involved was a shirtless male with long hair.

Upon arrival, police made contact with the male matching the description. The male told police the subject he fought left prior to their arrival. Management requested the issuance of a Criminal Trespass Warning due to the disruptive behavior.

The male’s demeanor was aggressive in nature and refused to follow police commands. The male continuously ignored police commands and placed his hands on an officer’s face.

The male was informed he was under arrest for the offense of Public Intoxication. The male refused to be handcuffed by actively resisting the officers. After several failed attempts to detain the subject, police deployed their department issued taser and the subject was successfully subdued.

The male identified as Stephen Anthony Maldonado; 27 yrs. of age was arrested and charged with Resisting Arrest Search or Transportation. Maldonado was issued a Criminal Trespass Warning prohibiting his entry into the establishment and was cited for Public Intoxication. Maldonado was transported to the police station where he was processed, he was then released to the custody of GEO Correctional Facility.
