STABBING AT LOCAL PARK

On September 18th, 2024 at approximately 4:42p.m. the Del Rio Police Department responded to the 100 block of Bridge Street for a stabbing call. The caller reported a person bleeding from the torso area.

Upon arrival police met with a male, juvenile victim who had a stab wound to the right side of his abdomen. Val Verde Regional Medical Center (VVRMC) EMS arrived on scene and treated the victim. The victim was transported to the hospital for further treatment.

DRPD Criminal Investigation Division Detectives arrived on scene and interviewed several witnesses and a suspect was developed. Patrol and CID conducted a follow up investigation and located the suspect at the 200 block of Barrera Street.

A male juvenile was taken into custody and was transported to the Del Rio Police Department for processing where he was charged with the offense of Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon.
