On 03/07/2024 Alejandro Yahvet Avila; 28 years of age was arrested for the offense of Online Solicitation of a Minor by the Del Rio Police Department.

Detectives continued with the investigation and discovered additional evidence in Avila’s iCloud account.

The lead Detective discovered Avila was in possession of videos and images depicting child pornography. Detectives learned the child pornography content had been transferred electronically to several external devices belonging to Avila.

The lead Detective gathered the necessary information and completed affidavits, seeking the issuance of an arrest warrant against Avila along with a search warrant allowing the search of his residence. 

On 03/21/2024 Avila was apprehended at his residence where he surrendered to Del Rio Police Department and Val Verde Sheriff’s Office without incident. DRPD and VVSO searched Avila’s residence as both agencies have their respective ongoing investigations. Additional evidence was recovered and was submitted for examination.

Alejandro Yahvet Avila was arrested and charged with the offense Possession or Promotion of Child Pornography. This is considered an ongoing investigation and no further information is available for release at the time.
