DISTURBANCE LEADS TO THREE CHARGES

On 12/14/2024 the Del Rio Police Department responded to a disturbance at the 300 block of Vicky Street. While en route, the emergency communication division told police a female at the scene threw a brick at a vehicle and broke its window.

Upon arrival a female was found to be acting disorderly, belligerent and aggressive. Contact was made at the scene with a female complainant who claimed to have been assaulted by the disorderly female, after she attempted to drive her away from the scene.

According to the female complainant, she managed to place the disorderly female inside her vehicle, but the female exited the car and threw a brick at another vehicle causing damage to the front window. The disorderly female allegedly reentered the vehicle and assaulted the female caller multiple times causing pain.

Emergency Medical Services were requested at the scene. While evaluating the parties involved, the female aggressor became upset and assaulted a medical staff member.

The female aggressor identified Karen Marie Valeriano; 45 yrs. of age was arrested for Criminal Mischief >$100< $750, Assault Causes Bodily Injury, and Assault on a Public Servant.

Valeriano was transported to Del Rio Police Department for processing, she was later released to the custody of GEO Correctional Facility.
