DISTURBANCE CALL RESULTS IN NARCOTIC ARRESTS
On January 6th, 2025 at approximately 2:00 a.m. the Del Rio Police Department responded to the 700 block of East 14th Street regarding a disturbance in progress call.
Upon arrival police encountered two males who had engaged in a verbal dispute. As police investigated the scene, both males were identified, and warrant queries were requested.
Police were informed; one of the males identified as Anthony U. Castellanos; 23 yrs. of age had an outstanding arrest warrant out of Uvalde County for a probation violation for the original offense of Possession of Marihuana > 4oz < 5lbs. Police confirmed the arrest warrant with the issuing agency and Castellanos was arrested for such warrant.
Police conducted a search of Castellano’s person and located a plastic baggie containing several white in colored pills. Castellano was unable to produce a prescription for the pills, that were later identified as Xanax.
As the search continued; officers located a second baggie in Castellano’s waistline containing a crystal-like substance. The substance was tested, yielding positive results for methamphetamine.
Castellanos was transported to the police station where he was charged with the offenses of Possession of Controlled Substance Penalty Group 1/1-B >=1G<4G and Possession of Controlled Substance Penalty Group 3 < 28G. Castellanos was later released to the custody of GEO Correctional Facility, pending magistration process.
