Connect Del Rio Celebrates 1 Year Serving the Community of Del Rio!

Connect Del Rio launched on March 2, 2024 as an online digital news platform with the goal of growing into something bigger that could better serve the needs of the Del Rio, TX community.

At the beginning we announced multiple features that have become a daily tool locals use. Features like Food Truck Central, Find a Professional, and Discover Del Rio! We also shared our ultimate goal for 2024 was to create Del Rio's FIRST Advanced Video Based Morning News Show. With that in mind, along side our journalist, Alondra Sanchez, we began testing the waters by creating news segments and sharing them with the public. These segments became something locals looked forward to often!

June and July weren't easy for Anakaren (CDR Vice President) and I as we began preparations for what would eventually be called CDR24 Morning News Show. I started building a team as Anakaren began to reached out to local businesses and tell them the big news about our show coming to town! I first reached out to Michelle Gonzalez who is now our CDR24 Morning News Anchor. Alexander Menchaca and I crossed paths at an event as he came to us with an idea for a sports show done through Connect Del Rio. Alex reintroduced me to Jesse Davila and we began working on their idea as we also prepared CDR24 Morning News Show.

CDR24 finally held it's first broadcast on social media on September 28, 2024 at 9 AM. While we ran into issues they we're quickly resolved over the course of the next few episodes.

The Warm Up was a name chosen by Jesse Davila and Alexander Menchaca and Jesse actually designed the logo for The Warm Up. Our first stream for The Warm Up was pure success.

As we began to close out the year and move into 2025 we began working closely with Seferino Gomez III on his idea to implement a newspaper through our platform.

This leads us to TODAY!

Today we once again lead the change in our community by providing a unique newspaper. A newspaper that coincides with the digital world. Our design is modern showcasing similar designs to our website but still has that familiar look and touch. After the closure of the our local newspaper a few years ago, we're proud to be the ones to bring it back to this community every Sunday and Wednesday.

The future for Connect Del Rio is bright and we're here to be the change we want to see in our community.
