CHILD PORNOGRAPHY INVESTIGATION

On April 7th, 2025, at approximately 6:22 p.m. the Del Rio Police Department responded to The Baymont By Wyndham Hotel located at 3616 Veterans Blvd. for a possible sexual offense.

Upon arrival police met with the callers who identified themselves as the crew from “Catch a Predator”. The crew consisted of meeting people online wanting to engage in sexual intercourse/contact with underage children. The group then confronts the suspects and calls police for assistance.

The group told police they acted as decoys and engaged in conversation with a local male subject who was interested in having sexual intercourse with a 13 y/o. The suspect arrived at the location and met with the crew and agreed to speak to them. During their conversation the suspect voluntarily spoke about having multiple images and videos of child pornography on his phone. The suspect also confessed to sexually assaulting a younger household member who was now deceased.

Due to the alleged illegal content on the suspect’s phone, the device was seized pending further investigation. The Criminal Investigation Division was called to the scene to assist with the case. The suspect was detained as the police continued with the investigation.

The suspect was then transported to the police station where an interview was conducted. The crew from “Catch a Predator” also drove to the Del Rio Police Station to provide pertinent information to the Criminal Investigation Division. While at the police station, multiple fans arrived wishing to meet one of their main members identified as JiDion; a YouTuber and online streamer focused on exposing online predators.

Detectives interviewed the suspect and submitted his cellphone as evidence. Detectives will be working towards obtaining a search warrant to extract the contents of the cellphone. This is an on-going investigation; criminal charges will depend on the information gathered from such extraction.
