BONES DISCOVERED SPARKS INVESTIGATION

UPDATE FROM CITY OF DEL RIO:

The Criminal Investigation Division has received confirmation from the Medical Examiner that the bones belong to various animals native to our region, such as deer and dogs. No human remains were found.

On Feb. 21st, 2025, at approximately 11:00 a.m. the Del Rio Police Department responded to the 100 block of Warner Street regarding bones located inside a private property. Upon arrival police met with the caller who reported he was cleaning his yard when he discovered several bones. The Criminal Investigation Division responded to the scene and assumed the investigation.

Detectives are currently inspecting the findings and have not yet determined if the bones could be human remains or could be those of an animal.

Detectives are working in conjunction with a Medical Examiner; and currently the investigation remains open.
